Pilgaards work is a dynamic exploration of existential tension and metamorphosis. With an emphasis on painting and drawing, his expression explores the boundaries between figuration and abstraction. We observe Illuminated interiors and corporeal figures shifting form, either becoming or dissolving.
Traces of mythology can be read into the motifs, but the paintings elude fixed narratives and evokes, through the abstracted language, an experience that slowly unfolds and invites multiple interpretations.
